Week 3 Thursday, September 17

Class: Critique and Discussion of Line Project / Intro All the News That is Fit to Print (screening Sarah Charlesworth, Aleksandra Mir, Adrian Piper, Rikirit Tirivanija, Lorraine O’Grady, Michalis Pilcher, and more)
Workshop: techniques ( adding -sharpie and gouache, extracting (exacto), commenting and highlighting (highlighter and sharpies), alternative materials (oil, wax, etc).
CSS tutorial continued (text, webfonts, color, margin and padding, height and width, nav bar, box model, positioning align, and more)
Assignment: CSS continued - creating projects and writing pages / begin developing ideas and methods for Project 2: All the News That is Fit to Print prepare at least 3 options for next week
Reading Assigned: Listen to "The Last Newspaper: Artist in Conversation Sarah Charlesworth, Aleksandra Mir, and Nate Lowman" Three artists engage in a discussion about their use (and abuse) of the daily newspaper in their art practices, as well as the importance of the newspaper in their daily lives. Please take notes and include on website. How does this influence your individual project? In a statement regarding your project please include quotes and reference to this interview. Post in Writing section of your website.

Use these readings to influence writing about the color in your image. Choose one image AFTER reading to write about!
