Assignment: work on website - scan line assignment and resize images for web / index page/HTML and WC3 CSS tutorial (HTML: Layout, file paths, CSS: syntax, how to, backgrounds)

Reading Assigned: WWW Tim Berners-Lee WWW / Jorge Luis Borges The Library of Babel originally written in 1941 by the Argentinian author, the essay has strong relation to the www. Read both essays and draw associations between the technical and fictional/philosophical readings. Post on website in soon to be created Writing section. Use what you have learned about html and css to format page

Week 3 Monday, February 10

Adobe Brackets continued/ Intro NEWS Project / CSS tutorial continued (text, webfonts, color, margin and padding, height and width, nav bar, box model, positioning align, and more)
Assignment: Project: All the News That is Fit to Print - begin generating/collecting material

Reading Assigned: Listen to "The Last Newspaper: Artist in Conversation Sarah Charlesworth, Aleksandra Mir, and Nate Lowman" Three artists engage in a discussion about their use (and abuse) of the daily newspaper in their art practices, as well as the importance of the newspaper in their daily lives. Please take notes and include on website. How does this influence your individual project? In a statement regarding your project please include quotes and reference to this interview. Post in Writing section of your website.
